“I am happy that you teach sacred theology to the friars,
provided that in this occupation you do not extinguish the spirit
of prayer and devotion as written in the Rule…”
- St. Francis of Assisi to St. Anthony of Padua
(cf. Fonti Francescane 1775-76)
The formation program internal to the community is meant to equip the friars and nuns with the resources – human, intellectual, spiritual, and pastoral – necessary to live out the charism in a joyful and fruitful way.
Further studies are not required, but those who feel so called may have the opportunity to pursue them.
Candidates for the priesthood, naturally, follow the formational procedures established by the Code of Canon Law and other documents given by the Holy See and Episcopal Conference.
(cf. pfsgm Statute 6,12 – 6,14)
