The Bayou Lafourche Eucharistic Procession makes its way up Bayou Lafourche by boat, then on a fire truck, then on foot. Through this event, we ask our Eucharistic Lord's blessing upon us and upon the bayous which we call home, through the intercession of Our Lady of the Rosary. The procession takes place annually on the first Saturday of October, beginning in the morning with Mass at Our Lady of Prompt Succor in Golden Meadow, followed by the procession by boat to Our Lady of the Rosary in Larose, then by fire truck to St. Joseph Cemetery in Thibodaux, where it proceedes on foot to St. Joseph Co-Cathedral for the Benediction in the afternoon. The procession stops at multiple Catholic churches along the route so that priests may bless their individual parishes.
