Peace and Good, dear readers!
Last night on the Feast of Our Lady of Lourdes (February 11), it was our great joy and pleasure as a community to receive our dear Sister Caterina Maria Adelaide into her first vows of temporary profession (to God and the Catholic Church): espousing the ideals of Christ through Poverty, Chastity and Obedience (according to our style of Consecrated Life as outlined in our Constitutions.)
What this means is that she has successfully passed her two years of novitiate formation and has now vowed to remain faithful to the Gospel within the context of our community's lifestyle for the following year of 2020-2021. She will renew those vows each year for a total of three years - whereupon, having concluded her six and a half years of formation, she will make her perpetual (for life) profession.
Her 1st Vows were made at the Holy Family Catholic Church in Dulac, Louisiana within the Celebration of the Eucharist; presided by Bishop Emeritus Sam Jacobs and con-celebrated by 4 other priests of the Diocese of Houma-Thibodaux. Following the Ceremony, those who attended shared a joyful moment of fellowship together in the Church meeting room.
Please keep our dear Sister Caterina in your prayers, that she may continue to grow stronger in the Spirit of Our Lord and continue to shine His light ever so brightly upon those she meets.
Click HERE to hear her state her intentions, followed by the homily I gave during the ceremony.
God Bless you all and best wishes of Holiness,
Fr. Antonio.
